A mixture of 5,7-dichloro-3- isopropylpyrazolo[l,5-a]pyrimidine (687 mg, 3.0 mmol), N-methyl-tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4- amine (414 mg, 3.6 mmol), and K2C03 (828 mg, 6.0 mmol) in 10 mL of acetonitrile was heated at reflux under N2 for 2 h., diluted with water (10 mL) and the mixture was extracted with EtOAc (15 mL X 3). The combined organic phases were dried over Na2S04, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by preparative TLC on silica gel (petroleum ether/EtOAc = 3/1) to afford 5-chloro-3-isopropyl- N-methyl-N-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4- yl)pyrazolo[l,5-a] pyrimidin-7-amine (813 mg, 88 % yield) as yellow solid.
