Dichloromethane (600 ml) was added to the reaction flask containing D-2 (380 g). Methanol (2100 ml) was added and cooled with ice bath, then sodium methoxide (MeOMe) (9.04 g) was added. After the addition, the solution was heated to 30 C. and stirred for 2 hr until completion check by TLC (MeOH/DCM=1/7). Amberlite IR120 ion exchange resin (160 g) was recovered by suction filtration and washed with Dichloromethane (100 ml).
